Bat Party Massacre

Overview/Goal
BPM was my first 3D game and an entry to a Vaporwave themed game jam. It is playable on itch.io
BAT PARTY MASSACRE is a first-person puzzle game where you play as a hyper-intelligent bat. You prey on humans during the night, sucking their blood and turning them into mindless drones. To achieve this, you are tasked with finding a path to a new target each night with clever tactics such as unlocking doors, breaking obstacles and scaring them. - Bat Party Massacre page

My Role
I created the game mostly solo, from concept to production.
- I experimented with shaders using Godot's GLSL inspired shading language to create the ocean grid & wave vertex movement.
- I began learning and using hard-surface modelling for my games through free online tutorials
- I ensured the game stuck to its Vaporwave art direction
- I programmed the bats controls, a rudimentary dialogue system and the interactions between picking things up and the world/characters.
I did get help with playtesting and voice-acting from friends,
Reflection
I am glad I pushed myself to finally make a 3D Game. It had its own new challenges but the end result.
Feedback on the jam page was very positive, with the most common approval being in how the theme/aethstetic was done.
